The Niece Quin-something

I was feeling pretty lucky, and smart this week. Last Thursday, my two nieces became 3 when Ashtyn Grace was born to the HSF's brother & sister in law. We went to the hospital to see her, and I officially held my youngest baby ever. Ironically, Ashtyn usurped my previous youngest baby to hold, Ashton Lee. Crazy. Anyway, I knew that we were supposed to find out the sex of my next niece/nephew this week, and I kept commenting how cool would it be to hit the niece quinella. In my mind a quinella bet in horseracing was when you picked the top four finishers in any order, and I really thought I was being very clever. Get it? 4 nieces? A quinella? Yeah turns out I'm a moron. That's not what a quinella is at all. Worse yet, I think I might have been calling it a "quintella". No wonder everyone was confused when I kept commenting on it. Silly me just thought it was my superior intellect. Worse yet, McD worked at a horsetrack when we were in college, and she never once thought to correct her moronic friend. Thanks.
Well whatever it is, I hit it. Because in August the Halfstreet's 3 nieces will become 4! Hoorah for little girls! I'm pleased as punch, because let's be honest, I'm starting to get this "Tia to little girls" thing down pat.

Here's a picture of me holding niece #3 Ashtyn. What a cutie.

That sounds like a word I would have trusted you to mean what you thought it meant--sounded good to me!

Niece #3 sure is cute--and so little. That will take some getting used to!

You were too excited to correct you, and Superfecta would have confused just as many people. ;)
