Crazy for Cupcakes!

The cupcake craze has come to Houston. A new cupcake bakery opened near the Half Street, and we gave it a try this weekend buying a dozen for a charity poker tournament that Lawrence played in. It was a bit pricey ($36 for 1 dozen) but I thought they were cute, and yummy! Flavors sampled include: Red Velvet, Chocolate, Java, Pina Colada, Carrot Cake, Orange Cream, Vanilla, and Banana Something. I personally inhaled the Carrot Cake and give it 2 thumbs up. Lawrence sampled the Banana what-ever, and wasn't overly impressed.

Hey Shannon, we need to hook up for the race on Sunday; have P give you my cell phone #. We are staying at a hotel by the end point of the race. Can't wait!

Put these on my list of places to go when I come to Houston (as soon as Lawrence gives me a reason to - wink, wink - NUDGE, NUDGE!). These look great! The Barron's also tried a new cup cake place this weekend!! :)

Oh yum! I also just LOVE cupcakes. My parents have been enjoying Sprinkles in Dallas quite a bit but you're right--they charge about $3.50 per cupcake! I'm sure they figure people pay Starbucks that much for a cup of coffee so why not?
