TG #8

This week I'm very thankful for my dentist Dr. Vaughan. We started the process of fixing my bum tooth and I'm elated to finally have this problem with my smile corrected! The bum tooth was the result of a teenage car accident that eventually resulted in a root canal. There were two problems with the tooth: first the initial root canal was not quite up to Dr. Vaughan's standards, and second (the part I cared about) was the tooth had been getting gradually darker every year. Dr. Vaughan to the rescue! I'm sure some might think its strange that I'm thanking my dentist. Of course it helps that when he's not Dr. Vaughan, he can be found with the rest of my rowdy friends cheering on the Rice Owls. As far as root canals go, this was pretty tame. Sure, it involved a mid-evil looking pin cushion, and an open flame, but it was pretty painless, so we'll count it as a success! The strangest part of the whole thing was realizing that while I've been busy getting laid off twice, and hopping between various jobs in the energy industry since leaving Rice, Dr. V was busy learning how to do root canals, internal bleachings, and an assortment of other useful procedures to keep your pearly whites...well...pearly white. Thank goodness I have such talented friends!
