Open Letter To Academy

Dear Sir or Madam:

For the 11 years that I have lived in Houston I have always depended on Academy for all my sporting needs, and I have never been let down. This is why I was so disappointed when I recently visited your store on 290 at 34th St. I was browsing the college fan section of the store trying to find some Rice University gear for an upcoming trip to Omaha to cheer the Owls on in the College World Series. As I searched, I saw plenty of A&M, Texas, and even the University of Houston gear, but nothing for Rice. Finally I located two T-shirts, on a top (in fact too high for me to even reach without assistance) shelf, in one size only.
I understand that Rice is a small university that typically doesn't have much of a fan base. However as they are on the path to a potential National Championship in baseball, I was shocked that Academy choose not to support them. They are, after all, representing the entire city and state on this national stage. Certainly at a time like this, there are more than just alumni that want to support Owl Baseball. Is Academy not amongst this group?

Thank you for helping me to better understand this situation.

Yeah!!! How come there were no decent shirts? I came to town specifically get a cool shirt (just in case certain fans will relent and let the Martinez curse be lifted!) but there was nothing I would were to a dog fight, let alone a trip to Omaha!
