Its my birthday. Yay. My last year in my 20’s. hmmm. We won’t dwell. Instead I’d like to try my hand at a new Friday tradition. On one of the sites I frequent, the author is constantly saying thank you to all the people that have done the little (sometimes not so little) things to help her get through the week. She’s raising 4 kids, while her husband is in Iraq. My fiancé is not Iraq, he comes home to our happy little house every night. This, in and of itself, is a lot to be grateful for. But there are other things too. I’d like to spend this last year of my 20’s trying to focus on these things and not on the other things that sometimes seem overwhelming. We will call these posts TG’s. When I was a school any keg w/ food served on a Friday was called a TG, as in ‘Thank Goodness Its Friday.’ So every Friday I’ll try to do a short post on something I’m thankful for. As a side note, this is by no means meant to be a comprehensive list. Nor is it a list of the things I am MOST thankful for. I think those are pretty obvious. Rather, these are the little things. The things that happen in passing that might typically go unnoticed. I’d like to try to spend the year noticing them. Let’s see how it goes. I’m depending on you guys to keep me honest:
TG #1
Thank you to the gentleman in the parking garage this week that I mistook for a coworker and waved to. I appreciated you waving back and smiling to a stranger, and making her feel a little less like a doofus.

Great idea! I'd like to give a TG to my friend Jenn who invited me and Ella over for dinner on Wednesday keeping me from eating my 4th Lean Cuisine in a row!
Happy Birthday from Japan. Well, not all of Japan.

I second Erin. This is a great idea! I know it isn't Friday anymore. But I would like to thank the nice man who held the door for me at Starbucks yesterday morning and then let me order before him. Somehow he sensed that I was in desperate and immediate need of caffeine.
Shannon, since I can't figure out how to log onto your site, but I did want to comment on the pix. I remember that evening (I am sure I was the photographer), very difficult, but look at you two now... still friends. For that I am thankful! Maybe that is MY TG: Pose having such good friends.
