I’ve been running around like a chicken with my head cut off today, or like my dog when we get his leash out. It’s Bid Week in the gas world, and even worse, November is the start of the winter season for us. This translates to a normally busy time, being even crazier. Short of when a hurricane is in the Gulf I’m hard pressed to think of a busier time for me. Which brings me to this week’s TG: I’m thankful I have a job. This might seem like a strange TG, but speaking as someone who has been laid off twice in her short career, I know its something you should never take for granted. Add to that they pay me good money to work with some of my really good friends (plus if it weren’t for this job I wouldn’t have met the Half Street fiancé….or live on the half street come to think of it) and I’m considering myself a pretty lucky girl today. On a similar note, a related TG is I’m thankful for all the amazing people in my life who helped me when I DIDN'T have a job. From Mom and Dad for getting me home from London, to K for letting me sleep on her couch (and getting me home from London), to AS for lending me his car for interviews to more people than I can give thanks for in this space, for help along the way. I never realized the support system I had, until I really needed it. Rest assured I never take any of you for granted.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. A lot of faithful readers are on various trips this weekend. Safe travels to you all!

I'm thankful that you have a job, too!
My TG is for our neighbor Joan who watched our dog Lily yesterday while we were in Boston. You can't put a price on someone you trust to take care of your dog. Now if I could just find a babysitter, I'd be all set!
My TG is for my sweet and tolerant husband (the Godfather) who took me shopping all over creation for Halloween decorations (not so easy to find at the last minute) and who will surely get stuck installing them for me...
Yea for jobs...although I prefer the weeks where you get paid for IMming with me all day.
And you forgot to be thankful for getting laid off in a country who gives discounts for it - that was convenient for our siteseeing! ;)
My TG is for Posey for inspiring all of us to take a moment out of each day to reflect on one of the many things we have to be thankful for.
